High quality healthcare begins with accurate diagnosis. Medical laboratory science is the use of clinical laboratory tests to screen for, diagnose, monitor and treat diseases. Medical Laboratory Scientists are laboratory professionals who are part of the medical team of specialists that work together to determine the presence, extent or absence of disease. Medical Laboratory scientists analyze, evaluate and validate laboratory data in seven major areas of clinical laboratory: clinical chemistry, immunology, haematology, transfusion medicine, medical microbiology, parasitology and histopathology and use the information there from to make decisions regarding a patient’s health care.
Dr. Bessie Nonyelu Esimai

Dr. Esimai is a Doctorate Degree holder in Public Health Parasitology /Entomology, with MSc and PGD in the same field of study. She is a renowned Malariologist who studied at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka in Anambra State, Nigeria. She is foundationally a German Trained Medical Laboratory Scientist. She is an Associate (AMLSCN) and also a Fellow (FMLSCN) in Histopathology and Bacteriology of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
Dr. Jude Iheanacho Ugwu

I started my tertiary program studying Madical Laboratory Assistant before going into Technician. I went further to study and become a Medical Laboratory Scientist. I have been able to do my post graduate studies to PhD level.
I have worked in many private Laboratories and a Teaching hospital. My first lecturing experience was in Ebonyi state university and currently in Evangel University.
EMILLIA FRED IBE

A certified medical laboratory scientist with over 7 year’s cognate experience in various aspects of medical laboratory science, biomedical research and clinical quality management. I hold a Masters Degree (Distinction) in Medical Laboratory Science (Chemical Pathology) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and also a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory science (second class upper division) from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Nigeria.
Mr. Chiedozie K. Chikwendu

Mr. Chiedozie Chikwendu is a lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science. He was trained in Madonna University, Elele, Nigeria and graduated in the year 2010. He has since finished his M.Sc in Haematology in University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and he is currently a doctoral student in the same university.
