Graduates in medical laboratory science branch out into several areas such as industry, IT, forensic and environmental health, biomedical engineering, and research where they work as quality controllers, analysts, designers and planners. Many of them pursue higher degrees in biochemistry, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, molecular biology, pharmacology and public health and end up as researchers and university lecturers in these areas. Medical Laboratory Scientists are trained to be self employed and employers of labour.
