Director's Welcome Address

The Directorate for Research, Innovation and Development (DRID) was formerly called University Board of Research (UBR) which was established in 1994 as a statutory body of the University under the office of the Vice-Chancellor with the mandate to among others, coordinate and regulate research work, ensure that research fund allocated are used for the purpose it is intended; and make appropriate recommendations to Management accordingly.

In order to effectively implement the policy and strategy, the University Senate at its 392nd meeting on the 28th January, 2015 approved the expansion and change of the name of UBR to the Directorate of Research Innovation and Development (DRID).

The current structure will provide the much needed enabling environment for research capacity development, patenting of intellectual properties and utilization of research outputs to provide goods and services for national development.

Mission

To identify and develop quality internal and external partnership that facilitates the attainment of the University’s developmental objectives.

Vision

The vision of DCAL is of a unit strategically placed to enhance the University service delivery in teaching, research and Community service.

Engr. Professor Moses Aderemi Olutoye is the Director, for the Directorate for Research, Innovation and Development (DRID). He is a Professor of Chemical Engineering. His research interest is in Catalysis and Renewable energy, especially in areas related to Energy and Environment, Waste Management, Environmental engineering, Modelling and Simulation. To date, he has published over 70 articles in high impact journals (international and national) and proceedings; with Scopus h-index of 15. The Director of DRID is also the Coordinator of the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO) of the University
